O/T Die grinder question

The wife got me a die grinder for Christmas but I could use a cut off tool as well. Is there anyone who sells a mandrel or an adapter to run a 3" wheel on a die grinder? Hate to have to buy another tool if I don't have to. I haven't been unable to find any such thing so far. If not, has anyone ever made an adapter for this? The die grinder is an ExCell mini rotary tool, with 3/8" and 1/4" collets. Thx. Happy New Year!!

Re: O/T Die grinder question

I got an adaptor for mine at Home Depot. I can use 3" or 4" grinding discs with it and it cost less than $5.

I'd also check The Tool Warehouse . I buy a lot of air tools from them because their prices are good and shipping is very fast.

Re: O/T Die grinder question

they are very common, looks like a screw with a 1/4 smooth shank, some of th eones Ive bought I had to grind a shoulder off of the screw so it would fit differetn types of disks, no big deal though.

oh yeah, in a bind ive used a 1/4 inch carriage bolt with 2 flat washers and a couple of nuts to hold the disk, that works fine!
