Greaseable shackles - what type of grease?

I just purchased the MORE greasable shackles and they recommend regular chassis lube.

In the Quadratec catalog, Daystar sells a product called Lubrathane, and claims ordinary mineral greases deteriorate the polyurethane bushings. Is this true? If so, does anyone know of any alternatives?

Re: Greaseable shackles - what type of grease?

I use chassis grease, but i spend the extra buck or two and buy synthenic grease. I didnt grease my jeep for almost 6 months one time, cause i was just plain lazy and the when i did grease it the grease that came out was just as good as what was going in. Synthenic grease will work its way into the pours of the steel or poly and stay there for a long, long, long time.

The best grease I've found for any bushing type assmy. is OMC Tripleguard. You can get it at any Marina that sells Johnson,Evinrude, OMC. The stuff resist water and stays put like nothing I've seen I use it for everything except wheel bearings. And thats no

Re: Greaseable shackles - what type of grease?

I use just regular moly grease on mine. It works fine and hasn't done any damage to my bushings.
