jeeper in need of lift advice...suggestions

Hey guys, I know I know I shouldnt be here with my XJ but I have a bud who needs some experienced yj/tj owers advice. He has a 94' with the 4 banger and is trying to lift it somewhere around 4". The problem arises when he is in the navy like I am but makes less than me(which isnt much) What is the cheapest way to lift his jeep, either random junk yards parts form other vehicles or a used lift from someone going bigger...Let me know!!!

Josh

Does he just want to show off his jeep like 75% of the world does? or does he want to start riding?
1. Could get a used lift from someone going bigger, but those springs are normally sagging and aren't near as high as new springs.
2. Do a SOA... your going to need to get new perches welded on, new shocks, and a few odds and ends... going to cost a few hundred
3. A new spring lift for a YJ doesnt cost that much normally under $500

Feel free to post here anytime you'd like, we don't care what you drive.

He should look into buying a used lift from someone, they can be found through jeep clubs and online BBS's (like this one). If not, for staying SUA (Spring Under Axle), I'd look to BDS, I've seen them in action and you get a lot for your money. Otherwise, I'd go SOA (Spring Over Axle), using the stock springs, but it's not as cheap if it's done right. Avoid people who tell you it's cheap and easy to do, they're forgetting stuff.
