Four Wheeler of the Year?

Was anyone else as disappointed as I?

Re: Four Wheeler of the Year?

Hmm....I read 4WOR when I get the urge for an off-road mag. Haven't found one yet I agree with all the time, and I haven't found one with in-depth articles. Hmmm....probably why I spend so much time on this board!

I wasn't. 'Cos I didn't know it. And now I am. How's about sending somebody a xmas-bomb under his tree?

Re: Four Wheeler of the Year?

That's one of the reasons i let my four wheeler subscription lapse. they cater to soccer moms. their "tech articles" are the same thing every issue. my trusted source of infotainment is 4WOR or JP. or hot rod when im in a pavement mood.

c'mon, arent you going to pick up a new lex for next year's moab run?

Re: Four Wheeler of the Year?

That is a joke right? That is not a 4X4, that is an all wheel drive SUV. I am going to have to read to see why they picked an all wheel drive as the 4X4 of the year.

Re: Four Wheeler of the Year?

I was shocked when I got that in the mail. I thought the new rub would walk away with it this year... It wasn't even in the top 5. That is a joke. I have not read any of it yet, but most of the testing must have been on the road. I do not believe that lex could even come close to the new Jeep Rub. They are going to get a lot of letters from people over that artical. Probably going to set a record for them.

Re: Four Wheeler of the Year?

yeah what about the rubicon or the other concept cars, maybe they couldnt list the rubicon because they are only for a limited time! maybe Chrysler asked them not to, who knows what goes on behind closed doors

Re: Four Wheeler of the Year?

ill tell ya what its a c-o-n-spiracy!
maybe lexus paid them off to boost sales. maybe the jeep didnt do well b/c four wheeler grades based on how many bags of groceries it can hold while still carrying 3 kids to soccer practice.

all i know is: four wheeler is dead to me.

Re: Four Wheeler of the Year?

Wow, MSRP is only $45,500. Maybe they only tested 40k and above 4x4's.

I might have to buy that issue just to see how the [email protected]#$ they justify that being 4x4 of the year! I can't imagine it would even beat the Liberty, nevermind the new Rubicon!

Re: Four Wheeler of the Year?

I was a little upset when I got mine in the mail yeasterday. Upon reading thier article, it appears that the criteria were more based on highway ability than actual off road performance. They praised there #2 vehicle, the H2, for its added cargo space and how comfortable it's leather seats were! Man can you see yourself climbing back into a trail rig with leather seats just after you were crawling on the ground tring to fix something? I mean come on folks! Although the Rubicon may not be the best 4 x 4 out there, I think it should have ranked higher than 5th. Maybe not 1st, but not in second to last place either. They bashed it on its noisy interior, rough highway ride and its 31" tires poor performance in the sand. Gee, you'd think they were looking for a Cady not an off-road vehicle.
