STock TJ long travel shocks?

what the longest shock i can runn on a stock TJ, i want it so the axle can droop since i don't have money for a lift right now...i'll be running 31's

remove the shocks and disconnect the sway bars then raise one front and the opposite rear wheel until suspension is completely compressed (auto ramps and a slightly un-even yard are helpful). Measure the distance from shock mount frame to shock mount axle (front and rear) this is compressed length you can run. If you did it all right... the opposite side should be at full droop - get the shock that will fit these lengths. Allow tolerance... the bumpstops will compress on hard hits ...you will want the shock to compress too.

or... just go buy a spacer lift ...approx $300 and you get the shocks with it.


for some reason 16" and 14" compressed stick in my head...
