Re: Prepping for Herculiner do not like what I found

Hey Buddy, i threw some Herc in my tub about a year ago and I had a few little rust spots anbd I just shot them with primer. Then cleaned it and rolled it on. No probs yet with my stuff. Don't stress to much about gettin it all off.

I called Durabak and they said they make Herculiner. There suff is the roll on stuff not the spray can. They said the difference between Herculiner and Durabak was that Durabak has UV protectant and Herculiner does not and Herculiner only comes in black.

Well it don't have enough UV protection then. My Durabak is also faded from being in the sun. Don't ask me how I know brake fluid and sunblock will make it bubble up!

Re: Prepping for Herculiner do not like what I found

I used just herculiner, no primer, no rust prohibiter. I just clean the rust with a wire brush and scuff the painted area. I did my all the inside of my jeep, even the firewall. Had enough in a gallon to coat it three times. No problem yet, and it has seen some use. David
