How do i figure out this angle?

I'm making brackets to put a d44 in my tj and can't figure out how to figure out the angles for the lower and upper control arm brackets. I have an angle finder but it only works for verticle angles how do i figure out a horozontal angle? I could guess though that's not the way i want to do this project, some one give me an idea please i'm lost and need to get this bracket done.

Put the angle finder on one leg of a carpenter's square, and the other leg on the horizontal surface.

Re: How do i figure out this angle?

a horizontal angle is the same as a vertical..but on its side.....lay your angle finder on its side...also a drawing compas on a square..lay the compas on the square..and each mark is the angle you need...square off the axle housing...and if you have to...stretch a string out over the compas to see your angle...if that does not make sense..go to home depot and get a compound square...for mitering...
