Small quick pic of new paint job

I just picked up a new digital camera today for Christmas. Merry Christmas to me!!!! SO I thought I would take a quick pic of the new paint I just sprayed on the CJ-5. THe interior is not done yet but the outside paint is. What you all think? Sorry about the bad angle but I took it in the garage and the garage has my Jeep and our 1954 Chevy truck in it so it is a little tight to get a good angle on it. I took this pic while standing in the bed of the 54.

I LOVE IT!!! I've seen that paint style before, but never on a CJ-5 and never quite like that. You have done that CJ a great honor and deserve a pat on the back.

Re: Small quick pic of new paint job

Thanks guys. I just noticed in the pic on the back rear fender well you can see the paint I used on the jeep.

I made my own pattern for the scallops. I cut a triangle out of cardboard and used that to lay down the scallops with tape. I then drew a curve in between each one with the help of a plastic plate. Once that was all done and it looked pretty good top me and used a razor blade and cut out the curves free hand.

I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. Especially sine this is my very first paint job. It is not perfect but it is more than good enough for me and my POSCJ5. I am going to do the inside with Herculiner next then comes the full cage and new seats. Maybe then I can put it back together, If I remember how everything goes on. Gotta love that rattle can for touch ups too. I painted my CJ5 2 stage and then scracthed the sh!t out of it every time I took it in the woods. This time I did like you and used the good stuff. Looks really good, what brand did you use?

Re: Small quick pic of new paint job

THanks agian guys I am glad that I it turned out pretty good. Iwas kinda worried about it. But on the lighter side of things, it could not have looked worse than it did.

I used Sun flower yeelow from Rust tough. It is made by Krylon. It is pretty good paint but I think I would stick to Rustoleum next time, If there is a next time.
