Let me begin my tale of woe,
A few days ago the backlight illumination for the Speedometer in my YJ died. Initialy I though it was something as simple as the bulbs having decided to finaly die.
So first trip of to Schucks to purchase some new bulbs. I got home wipped the dash off replaced the bulbs and discovered that they were still not working.
Upon further investigation I discovered that the flexible curcuit board apeared to be quite badly corroded in a few sections. I tried to removed the corrosion as best as I could to see if the curcuit was being shorted. Needless to say I have been unable to resolve this.
My question is thus as follows. What options do I have apart from manualy rewiring the harness (something I am realy loath to do)? I am trying to keep prices down so ordering a brand new unit from Jeep is my last course of action. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any replies
