Wipers Won\'t Shut Off

I realy don't want to fold the windshield to get to the wiper motor. Is there a common problem with the switch going bad? And where's the fuse or the breaker? I loaned my manuals to a buddy and he's out of town.

I'm starting to smell rubber burnin'!

I'd put a temporary remote switch on it if I could find out which fuse to pull.

BTW- It's an '88 YJ Laredo

Thanks in advance!

Re: Wipers Won\'t Shut Off

To fix it you'll have to get to the motor or replace it sounds like the park switch inside the housing broke.

Are the fuses labeled? or just start pulling fuses till it quits its most likly a 15 amp fuse. On a CJ there is a plug just up under the dash but not sure on the YJ.

Re: Wipers Won\'t Shut Off

I thought of the park switch because it has constant power. I've had one go bad where the wipers don't park in the proper position but never one that wouldn't shut off. I don't believe there is access to the motor on a YJ without dropping the windshield. I really think the switch is fine but was hoping to find out where the blasted fuse or breaker is.

Thanks in2mud!
