Metallic Ping in my D 35---what is next upgrade

Well, I was changing the fluid last night in my Dana 35 axle in the 95 YJ- sure enough there was quite a bit of metal in it....This is a perfect excuse to give my wife to upgrade to something better.

I am thinking about either a D44, Ford 9" or 8.8"...I need to keep the same bolt pattern and width fairly close.

Any opinions on what to do and the best place, best price to get one. I am thinking about throwing in on OX locker or a full detroit is my everyday driver but on about 7,000 per year>

If you're going to go with the same bolt pattern, get an 8.8. What gears does your YJ have? It a 4.0 or a 2.5?

I would go with the 8.8 check out you can find rear 8.8 exploder axles for as low as $250.00. If you get one that is 96 or newer it'll have rear disk brakes. It is a good upgrade, they have 31 splines. Just dont get one out of a ranger or crone vic as they only have 28 splines.

the 8.8 is a good swap. 96-newer explorer. 31 spline, discs. only about 1-1/2" narrower than the 35. MORE sells a kit. the detroit is a good choice.
