Got in an accident.... advice needed.

Got in a little accident today...
Roads are wet and slippery, I have BF Goodrich All Terrain TA's which aren't very good when it's slick out. Anyway - 4 lane road with a center lane (2 lanes each way). I'm driving about 40, guy in front of me locks his brakes up. I slam on mine, start sliding. Release brakes, pull to center lane, slam back on brakes. Someone pulls into the center lane from the opposite way as I'm pulling in; we hit head on. My Jeep has very little damage, her car has alot. I am at fault.
Now everything on my Jeep seems basically fine, except I bent a leaf spring up, as shown here:

Looks like I need new front springs. Suggestions? I'd like to go with the cheapest I can get away with - stock would be fine. Where could I get them? How hard to install them myself? How much to have them installed?
Thanks!
My Jeep is a '90 YJ, BTW.

Are you sure the spring is bent? Have you tried to pull the shackle back down? It is possible that the shackle is just inverted and held against the frame.

I'm with Will on this one, although we can't see if the shackle/hanger are damaged or tweaked. I'd stick a prybar or 2 fisted screwdriver in there and un-invert that shackle. I'm guessing you'll never know it happened.

Unless of course you were looking for any old excuse to upgrade

If you do this, be very careful. When that shackle gets halfway and then flops the other way, it will do it very quickly with a lot of force.

eh...why don't you jack it up first, then try to reset the shackle!

Take some of that 1000+lbs off of the spring before trying to do this!

Re: Got in an accident.... advice needed.

If I knew you were around here I'd let you in on a secret local parts shop that deals hard parts like that for cheap money. I snapped my front leaf the week before thanksgiving, 4wp, Quadratec, etc. Wanted at least $75 a pack plus shipping. I went to this place and picked a set up for $95 after tax, and I didn't have to wait a week for them to ship. If i were you I'd ask around locally and try to find a shop like that, there's tons of them aroudn, you just gotta look

Re: Got in an accident.... advice needed.

I was going to offer you a spring pack if you are local, but you haven't filled out your profile!

As suggested, I would try jacking the frame up or putting a rope/chain on spring where it hits the shackle and trying to pop it out. Not something I'd like to try with a prybar by hand

Re: Got in an accident.... advice needed.

More importantly, Where can I get a set of rims for my tractor like that! Put a cup holder on there and I'd be all set.
As for the Jeep, pop the shackle back down. BE CAREFUL

Re: Got in an accident.... advice needed.

I think i'd try to jack it up first. popping it with a prybar just seems like asking for trouble and broken stuff. there is a good bit of force on that shackle.

i do like those bling-bling rims on the tractor though.
