Adapter for Bronco 20 & T18?

I'm curious as to if I would need an adapter for between a Bronco Dana 20 tcase and a T18 4spd? I'm contemplating this swap into my YJ. Thanks!

That I do not know I really don't know too much about T18's yet. Would a Ford T18 bolt right up to a Bronco Dana 20? I'm wanting to put this all behind my 4.0, but don't wanna run adapters if I can help it(to keep the rear driveshaft as long as possible).

Re: Adapter for Bronco 20 & T18?

I dont know much about Ford T18s, but I know Jeep T18s used a 1" adapter from teh factory to mate to the Jeep Dana20.

there is a reason folks dont bolt Ford Dana20s behind Jeep trannys, either the front axle drop is on teh wrong side or the tcase input isnt compatible, or both. I honestly dont know.

I know its a commom swap into early broncos, so maybe you could get more info there on what Ford T18 might bolt to a Ford Dana20.

I know there is also a 1" adaptor needed for a ford t18 to a scout d20 and a jeep d20, but can't say for sure if the ford d20 is the same case as the others.

Re: Adapter for Bronco 20 & T18?

Hey,you might want to check out the Wild Horses site. There you can find adapters for Bronco 20's.I believe they are for a Ford NP-435 4-speed which would bolt up to a Jeep bellhousing. If I remember correctly the adapter is around $325 or so with a core from the old Ford 3 speed adapter.E.B.'s never came with a 4 speed only 3 speeds and C-4 auto's.You can also look on www.jamesduff.com and www.tomsbroncoparts.com.Hope this helps.
