pcv valve

What would cause my pcv to be blown right out of the valve cover when i accelerate around 40 mph? any ideas

take it out and shake it. it should rattle. if not, its bad and replacing it should solve the problem. either way, could you videotape it? id get a kick out of seeing this happen [img]images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Sounds like a stuck PCV valve allowing pressure to build up in the crankcase. Try replacing it and see if you still have the problem. Let us know what you find!

Replace the grommet, also, or clean the oil off the old one. A new one will hold it tighter.

If replacing the pcv and the grommet doesn't work , I'd check compression in the cylinders . If none of them are low, pull the valve cover and see if a valve guide seal is blown off . Gotta be something building that much crankcase pressure to do that . It's a wonder the oil seals haven't blown out.....
