partitioned battery?

has anyone heard of battery that is partitioned (essentually like 2 smaller batteries) so that if you leave your lights on or something, you can switch over to the other battery to start your car? i thought that i had read about these a while back. anyone know if they do make them and where you could get them?

thanks all

Re: partitioned battery?

1. Sears used to market one under the "DieHard" brand.
2. For my money, I'd buy a battery minder that shuts all current off when it's getting low enough to jeporadize starting capabilit.
3. Battery minders are about $35.
