L-134 Hop Ups - Possible?

I am getting ready to bring our '46 CJ2A back to life for use as a hunting/recreational 4x4, and was wondering if the L-134 is worth rebuilding and if there is any way possible to improve performance on this thing. I am weighing this vs. the engine swap option, but can't decide between the Buick V6, Chevy 4.3 V6, or the small block Ford V8. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I personally like to see stock cj2's just the way they came from the factory. But if you must change the motor I would go for the 4.3 and make sure it has Fuel Injection.
