Fuel gauge question?

Are the fuel gauges for a CJ 78-86 the magnetic type, or the constant voltage regulator type??

Thanks
Brian

Re: Fuel gauge question?

Not 100%, but I think these are electric not magnetic.

At any rate... your post is now BTT and someone who knows for real will either confrim or dispute

Re: Fuel gauge question?

Sheesh! ...
That info is in the article I first published here and has been on-line and available for almost three years now because of similar Jeep gauge questions.
The "CJ Gauge & Sender Diagnostics" article was first posted on this site because of constant and similar questions pertaining to CJ gauges, their characteristics, their senders, and their wiring.
This article can be found on www.off-road.com, www.4x4wire.com and at it's founding and always most up-to-date location at http://www.monsterslayer.com/jeep/Gauges.htm
It's even in this own forum's SWB web site!
And almost no one here would or could even reply...
*shaking head*
I thought the 'been here for a while' members were supposed to pass the torch, give correct answer and/or and point the newbies to where they can find useful info.
Guessed not ...
