Ya\'ll won\'t belivethe bonehead move Caverdave did

When he swapped out hie intake and carb this past weekend he packed paper towels into the head intakes to keep crap from fallling down in the Combustion chambers... Good boy..

Bad boy for not pulling them back out before reinstalling the intake. Then he proceeded to suck 6 out of 8 of those down into the engine and into the valves where they were the rope in tug-of-war between the valves. so then he had to pull it all back apart and pick and burn away the papertowels with a long skinny lighter and a pair of hemostates. After all the clean up, I still had to drag him around the block while he let it sit in second gear. then we finally got it started abd cleared out....

Way to go Dave

Your right about that Jim! Too bad he's having an identity crisis right now .
So if it wasn't me.... (MY engine has been together for 8 months...and running great!), who's he telling on?

I laughed so hard it brought tears to my eyes. You tell the story like it happened to you... hehe.

This would've been great on video.

(Just a reminder...in case someone is planning to convert an engine to burn big lumps of Xmas coal and hickory switches ).

Besides, everyone knows I'd have used shop towels!!

Atleast he used paper towels and not those cloth shop rags they would have been harder to get out.

I once saw a guy do a inframe rebuild on a semi and after installing the heads he was turning it over by hand to check everything it locked up. After pulling the heads back off there was a shop rag sitting in one of the cyl. We didn't let him live that one down for a long time.

Re: Ya\'ll won\'t belivethe bonehead move Caverdave did

Well, if Santa is watching Then I better tell the truth, cause I really want that Cage for X-mas.... Dave put my intake on before I had a chance to pull the paper towels out... and I thought he'd be smart enough to do it himself.... OK OK He wasn't around I did.... I knew that swap was going way to smooth to have nothing go wrong Everything came apart nice and went back together, except the part with figuring out the vac lines. Hey At least i got Practice at pulling and installing the intake, and DAMN!! that Cast iron intake ain't lite!
