4.0L Swap....Alternator Wiring Diagram FYI

Here's a drawing I made to help someone with wiring the 4.0L alternator up for the 4.0L swap. Just FYI if anyone is looking towards doing this in the future....my drawing skills aren't the best tho!

Ben - I thought that your drawing skills were really good. The drawing looks just like the parts do and the wires are color coded to boot. Nice job. You've been a huge help for me with this swap.

Re: 4.0L Swap....Alternator Wiring Diagram FYI

For a fuel pump, I went with a Carquest #E2000. It's a inline model and then I put a filter before and after it.

I cann't help you with the dash wiring as my 4.0 came out of a 1993 and I didn't have to worry about anything like that. The 93's gauges don't go through the PCM like yours do.

Re: 4.0L Swap....Alternator Wiring Diagram FYI

Thanks! It's the best I cuold do with Paint! I'm a pro at photo shop, I just don't have it on my new work system yet.

On your CJ5, you are trying to use the motor harness & the Accessory/guage harness? Did you get the whole computer etc? They are a few different things you have to do with the newer swaps. I can help you out a little if you want.

You can email me at: [email protected]

there is quite a bit different on the new engines but I'm sure we can figure it out easily.
