Trannt and T-case options behind a 302

Hey people, Just wanting to here suggetions for what to put behind a Ford 302? Looking for Tranny and Tcase options with minimal fab work, i.e. no shortening of input shafts, alterations to out put gears. Not much more than driveshaft length correcttions and tranny mount moving. Something that is quick and easy to find, and not a POS.... of course. This is in an FJ40 just so you get an idea of size and weight of the vehicle. I'm trying to help my buddy explore all his options. Thanks for the help.

Brent

T-18 Trans (Ford F250) and Bell housing
Transfer case?????
I'm using a Dana 300 with an Advance Adapters Conversion plate.

Check out the Bronco Forums they will be the best source of info since the 302 is what they run.

Good luck

Re: Trannt and T-case options behind a 302

on my ranger i got an np 435 and np205 pulled from an old f250, so i needed no adapters, etc. just bolted up. the np435 is a hoss with a 6.69 low gear. the np205 has what many consider an anemic low range and is heavy but shouldnt ever break. this combo is very plentiful and i got for i think $400 from a local junkyard. good luck!

Grape, that little ranger must be pretty fun to drive with a 302 in it and that low first gear.
The 435, and 205 set up is a super strong one, and work work well in pretty much any rig with a 302.
