8000 electric mile marker winch problem

I have been having a very hard time pulling out my cable in free spool and the winch is only about 6 months old! Does anybody here have this same winch and do you have any problems with it? Mine is bolted onto a piece of heavy c-channel steel on the front of my 89 wrangler...
My ramsey 9500 is much easier and my buddies warn 9000 is extremely easy to pull out the cable, I just wish this damn thing was! I really have to pull very hard and it only turns out about a foot each time...

Just a stupid question, But is your cable spooled in nicely or in a big ugly mess. The other thing could be what ever it uses for a brake is sticking.

you ever figure it out? there's been some interest in that winch on the FORD side, but it's so new that getting opinions is tough... cant beat the price though

It is fine for light vehicles like jeeps but it is slow!
I just got a respond back from milemarker and they said they haven't had that problem but did say to send it to them for a warranty repair.
