Divorced t-case in a CJ-8
I'm not having any luck finding a parts truck with a married t-case and 8 lug axles for cheap. But I have found a 76 F-250 with a np435, divorced np205, D44 HD front and a full floating (D70?) rear for about free.
I know this tranny and t-case is really long in stock form, but I could either use 1 u-joint to connect them and mount them solidly to each other, or make the intermediate drive shaft as short as possible (2 yokes + 1" of tube) and use 2 cross members.
So, the question is, has anybody put this tranny and t-case (or any tranny with a divorced case) into a jeep? Any comments? Thanks.
