360 starting issues
Hi,I havn't been here for awhile but I need some help.I have a 90 grand wagoneer that has some issues with starting.I'm hoping that some of you that run the 360 might be able to help.
The engine is stock.I have done the tfi ignition upgrade with all new parts.I have replaced all three cto's,almost every vac line, removed the egr and cleaned it up(although I don't know about the delay valve thing in line with it).The carb is the 2150.
The problem is that on cold starts(pretty much any temp as long as it's been sitting for awile)it idles up normally but after a couple of seconds it will start to slow down and run very roughly. It will even die sometimes. If I sit in the veh and keep the gas pedal down it will stay running but it is still bad.It blows some smoke during this process but I'm not real sure exactly what color it is because it's been windy here lately.Once it gets through it,it will run just fine.It runs fine after that until it sits for a few hours maybe, not real sure on the timeframe.Any ideas?
I'm also having a problem losing the spark knock with the new ignition system.Factory advance is about 10,I've got it retarded to about 8 already and it still knocks when it's fully warmed up.It will not knock until it gets warmed up.
