Where do I buy Spring hangers (stock)

Hey all,

I plan on a fuel cell in the YJ tub swap. I am going to be moving my rear axle back a few inches. Doing this by turning the shackle hanger backwards and moving the spring back.

I am going to cut the stock spring hanger off. I assume I will damage them beyond repair while doing this.

Can I buy the mounts? That way I can weld them on? Thanks.

I have actually cut them off w/o destroying them, then re-used them. I think there was a post a few weeks back that had some places to buy them also.

Re: Where do I buy Spring hangers (stock)

on my CJ frame, I used a grinder, ground the rivit heads off ( 2 big ones) and then a cut off wheel to cut the welds on each side, came right off, some light clean up and it was as good as new!

Alrighty then. I will give it a try. May I ask why you guys took yours off? Did you do what I am going to do with moving the axle back? Just wondering.

I am assuming that I can just turn the shackle hangers around and bolt them up like normal?

Thanks.

I did it once before when putting the wider 2.5" springs on my CJ5 that had 1.75" springs previously.
This winter when I go full width axles I will be doing it on the CJ7 to get more wb as you are.

I just cut mine off with a grinder & cut-off also and reused them. I kept reading you can't cut them off without destroying them but it was a piece of cake !

I did mine to do something that scares some but I don't see a problem with it. (see attachment)
