Holley Projection?

Is the Holley projection kit for the 304 worth the $$, or should I just opt for an EFI engine swap? What experiences have people had with this kit?

Re: Holley Projection?

I've responded a few times with my opinion. Sometimes mine works well, sometimes it doesn't. Do a search. If I were to do it again, I'd look at customefi or megasquirt.

Re: Holley Projection?

That's funny, I got a lot of matches with the search.

Try searching for "pro jection"

Search options "And"

Date Range "All posts"

Re: Holley Projection?

When it works it works great. I have never had any serious problem, but have had to do some trail work on two different occassions. Once for a burned out relay and the other for a broken or burned wire in the harness. I was not able to locate the burned wire and had to be towed from the trail. If I were to do this again I would probablly go with a late 80's Chev TBI setup for about the same money.

Re: Holley Projection?

Well I have heard some pros and cons about the projection also but did the swap about a month ago. So far it is awesome. steep angles is one of the main reasons I wanted it. I was thinking about a holley offroad truck avenger carb but since I got my kit brand new for less than one of those I think I did well. A Friend has a late 80's chevy tbi on a 350 that he just put on also. Unfortunetly I wont have more input intil next year when we do a lot of wheeling.
As of now though my jeep has idled up some steep terrain and it allways runs perfect after a few seconds of being started. Mike

Re: Holley Projection?

I have one setting on my shielf that I'm going to put up on ebay. To be honest with you I could not get it to work right on my CJ. I changed the injectors, tested pump pressure and even sent the ECU back to holley and it checks out good. I never installed it after it was checked, I did it so I know it was good to sell. So it you want it I'll sell it for $350. + postage.
