I need a seat belt buckle??? Help

My driver side buckle doesn't lock anymore, so I have been using the passenger side for about 4 or 5 months. My parents are telling me I have to get one or no more Jeep. Anyone have a buckle for a YJ. The dealer wants $100 for the part and I'm not willing to pay. If anyone has one or know where I can get one cheap let me know.

You're trying to be cheap in the wrong place. JC Whitney sells complete belt sets for about $50 I think. It's a bad idea to go switching parts around on seatbelts.

Re: I need a seat belt buckle??? Help

a lot of times they are just full of rust and crud. i would start by unbolting it from the floor, so you can really get at it. spray some pb blaster into it and let it sit for a while. you can then start to pick the crud out of it with a piece of wire, rap it with a hammer, use a screwdriver, buckknife, whatever. you'll probably find that after you pull a bunch of crap out of it, it will work ok. you might even find a coin or two in there. in the meantime, you can always unbolt the passenger side and mount it on the drivers side, keeps the parent folk off ya.

I have a YJ that I am parting out. It has the buckles still in the tub. Do you still need it?
