Carter rebuild, 4.2 getting there...

For the past while my jeep has been running like crud. Have been tinkering with it and all vaccum and what not. Today i rebuilt that carter... The Venturi's were pluged and the floats were off by about 1/8 of an inch. Got all that squared away and made sure that everything was clean. The main needles and acclerator pump were adjusted to the same place they were before. Stuck it on and it idled perfect. Took if for a test run and here is also something interesting. At about 1/2 throttle it has a "flat" spot in the power and stays round untill about WOT. Also, while just reving the engine it will blow out a little black smoke. (acc. pump??)

at times it also just floods while sitting. Jump in, turn the key, and it is flooded w/o touching the gas. Why would that be? Any help.
