Mopar ignition swap for Motorcraft. Why Not??

17. On my last CJ I replaced a cooked Motorcraft ignition box with a Mopar one that I had lying around, it only took maybe 1/2 hour and worked great. I'm just wondering why I don't here about more folks doing the same thing. The Mopar replacements are way cheaper than the Motorcraft ones and are in stock at every parts place in the nation. Is the Motorcraft one better?

The Motorcraft box isn't all that bad, especially the DuraSpark II. I don't know how the Mopar one is cheaper, the DuraSpark modules are $15 at parts stores.

When the time comes to change out my ignition, I'll be going with an MSD 6 series.
