BAD RE 3.5 Standard.....

I ordered the Rubicon Express 3.5 inch tj lift. After the installation the wheels toed in badly, and the jeep wouldn't turn all the way without making terrible rubbing, grinding, and a pulling. I thought perhaps it just needed an alignment. I called Rubicon Express to double check, and they assured me of the same...They also said I would NOT need a longer pitman arm. After alingment, the problem persisted and 3 different mechanics told me a longer pitman arm was in store. Sure enough they were right. The re kit shorted me a pitman arm... Has anyone else had a similar experience with Rubicon Express?

Re: BAD RE 3.5 Standard.....

not at all..
in fact.. I have the RE 4.5 " kit on my wifes tj with 1" coil spacers and I dont have a drop pitman arm on her jeep. It drives at least as well as the day we bought it new and she drives it every day. we have over 30000 miles on the jeep with the lift kit installed and it has NO bump steer, no wander, no problems at all.
it sounds to me like you have something els going on for sure.. especially with the rubbing/grinding. a pitman arm will NOT solve this.

I agree...rubbing and grinding would not be from a bogus pitman arm. What mechanic told you that? Can you actully see where the pitman arm is hitting something? I suggest you have a buddy turn the wheel lock to lock and see if you can see anything.
