Swapping a T18 in place of a T90 problems?

I have a 1962 CJ5 with a small block Chevy with a T90. The 40 year old T90 could n't take the stress of the 383 cubic inches. I had Mile High Jeep Rebuilders rebuild and with a Advance Adapters kit change the input shaft. I know that my T90 has as about a 3.5 inch adapter with the word, "Offy" cast in the metal. That with a the '90 is about 12 inches long. The advance adapter book has the T18 about 11.5 with a 1/2 inch adapter. Will these actually work or is there something I should expect different? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim.....a.k.a...The BigUgly

Re: Swapping a T18 in place of a T90 problems?

Your in luck, I just happen to have the T-18A from my `72 CJ5 out for a clutch replacement. Total length of tranny and adapter is 12-7/8 inches. Mine is a CJ T-18A and the factory adpter is actually 1 inch exactly.
