Freaken Wheels.

Aight.
So here's my dilema.

Wheels.
Second hand - one shop has a pair, of chrome blades (yuck)

New -
One shop has 3 white spoke $50.

Another shop has 4 black spoke $75 and whites on back order.
Personalyl I think the whites are a con to force me to buy more expensive blacks.

I can't afford $75 a wheel, then $10 to mount.

These are all 15/8, 5 on 4.5

I have 33/12.50's.

Should I put them on my current 15/7, 5 on 4.5?
I think if I can find a shop that will do it, that is what I will do.

Is it going to do something bad to my tires/jeep?

Real applications only.. so if you heard that this will make Jeeps fly from a friend of a friend, please keep it to yourself.

What kind of tire presure can I run with a 33/12.50 on a 7 inch rim?

Thnx all

Re: Freaken Wheels.

If you mount your 33's on the 7" rims and inflate them to the proper pressure the tires will wear out in the center due to the restraint of the rim and the natural tendancy of the tire built to be mounted on a 8"(minimum) and the reconmended 10" rim. This is exactly what happened to my friends tires.

Re: Freaken Wheels.

you can adjust the tire pressure for the contact patch. The pressure rating is for load handling ...I think (insert "Im not an expert" disclaimer here). I'm running a 39.5x15 on a 9" rim, rides fine. You can buy those black wheels for about $35 a piece if you can be patient and order them.

Re: Freaken Wheels.

Wow, we're talking regular black steel wheels here, eh? I grabbed mine for $32 a piece. I wonder what that's all aboot? I know Canada's higher priced than the US, but that's more than double. Go with the whites and slap a thick coat of black on them!

Re: Freaken Wheels.

Not too long ago there was a thread on the proper wheel width for 12.5" wide tires. I think it was split right down the middle between 8" and 10". I think that every one was in complete agreement on the fact that 8" is the minimum. I personally would not use 7" wide rims.
