77 Cherokee axles for a 84 CJ7?

I bought front and rear axles from a 77 Cherokee today its Quadratrac which I know isn't the greatest swap ,any way would the springs from the cherokee do me anygood ? there cutting them out tommorow and I can get the springs if I unbolt them which is a PITA because it's going to be snowing tommorow and I gotta do it tommorow.Theyre going in my 84 CJ7. Also can anyone explain to me why the front axles don't have lockouts on them, will the front axles be engaged full time and should I care if they are?

Re: 77 Cherokee axles for a 84 CJ7?

I thought we had covered this before, oh well

the front is fullt time, it has drive slugs instead of lock (out) able hubs, buy some locking hubs and bolt them on, then you have a typical front axle

the springs are 2.5 inche wide like a stock CJ rear, and are pretty close to the same length.

go and tip the yard guy another $5 to torch teh hangers and get the springs too, its nice to have a spring pile!

I hope its a narrow cherokee, but that all depends on what YOU want.
