4 link test pics

I finally got to do a little testing tonight on the 4 link (actually a buddy of mine in the picture, I was watching the suspension and shocks). I am pretty pleased so far with the results. Drove it up on a bank and it had more left and it is pretty twisted. It has no noticeable anti-squat under acceleration or take off, just a slight shift of weight when the transmission is first engages. Here are a couple shots.

Wow, that sucker's cool! It flexes ok, I guess. So are you keeping the backend like that, or putting some sort of bed on it? Looks great!

Re: 4 link test pics

Dave I don't know that I want to ever do coils on the front.... The back was hard enough to figure out and I didn't have to deal with bumping the links on the engine and stuff. It is cool to back up to something and hit the tires before the frame even comes close. After a few rides I will know how it is going to work for sure. I still need to bend some rocker guards and I am planning to put a hoop and two down bars on the back around the gas tank. I also plan on a skid for the oil pan before next weekend (going to Tellico to camp if anyone is down this way).

As for a bed I thought about it but there is just a tiny bit of room back there and after the gas tank and the winch it is almost nothing. I don't want the added weight and it would probably collect mud really bad. I am going to bolt some small alluminum tool boxes to either side of the frame for storage and the extra battery is going behind the passenger on the outside. I also have a decent amount of space behind the seats for axle shafts and driveshafts as well as a good spot for the cooler between the seats. You would think that with 118" wheelbase I would have a ton of storage but it doesn't really.
