NEED HELP FINDING RIGHT SIZE BELT!! HELP!!!!!

Ok, I'm in the middle of an engine swap right now. I got a 5.2L V8 from a 94 Grand Cherokee. I need to find the right sized serpentine belt for it. I've called Kragen, Autozone, and Dodge/Jeep dealers and no one seems to have the right size belt. I measured it and it came to 82 inches. This is without A/C. The smallest belt Kragen had was 88.5 inches. What's going on here? I've got all the pulleys and everything, I think they are all the right size. Someone please help. Thanks.

Call the dealer back and get the part number for the belt they don't have. Then call a parts house and give them the Chrysler number. They can cross-reference it to Gates, or whatever they carry. If they don't have it, call more parts houses and ask for that Gates number. Sooner or later you will find a house that has it. Or you can ask your favorite house to order it for you. In the middle of a sway, you shouldn't need it right now.

You say its 82 inches. Try Autozone or Advance Auto with part number 9060820. That number is good for Goodyear brand belts at Autozone and Dayco brand at Advance. That should be the right number.

If I were you when I finally found a belt, I would buy two. Always good to have a spair, and if you are having this much trouble finding it now, then if you ever really need one you know you will have an even harder time.

Are you sure that you have the routing of the belt right? Just the wrong rounting can make a change in length. I'd use the belt that it calls for and get a routing diagram from the dealer.

I would also suggest that you recheck your routing for the belt. And then have a friend check it. Once your 110% sure that you have the correct dimension, your local parts store should be able to give you a belt with that dimension. The length of the belt is usually a part of the part number. You will also need the width and number of ribs that you need.
