OT - Lawn mover tractor racing -who knows aboutit?

I got a few freebie mowers the other day. They're broken for now but very fixable motors. I was thinking...

Who knows anything about it? What does it take? I'm clueless but interested. I saw it a few times on TV and looked like a lot of fun.

Re: OT - Lawn mover tractor racing -who knows aboutit?

not exactly what your asking, BUT over the weekend I was visiting my grandfolks, and My gradfather had modified an old lawnmower for one of my younger cousins, removed blade and deck, put rear tires from another tractor on the front for better ride/steering, removed the pulley from teh transaxle and replaced with a much smaller pulley, and then rigged a foot throttle on the right foot deck.

pretty goofy looking, but they said it would go about 15 MPH, I think it was a 12HP engine.
