I finally got it

I finally got the Rubicon. Picked it up last night.
Chrysler bought back the '02 Jeep for what I paid. I took 8 days to complete the deal, but I am a happy camper now.
Need to change my screen name, as I am no longer Wantin' I got one.

Thanx for the support and I look forward of being a part of this board, and looking for advice.

Brian

Re: I finally got it

Hey, cool Jeep. I'd love one but I couldn't drop that kind of money down for it. Bought a new Cherokee in '97 and vowed I would never do that again, ouch! But then, I'm a cheapo. Anyway, What kind/size tires come on those?

Re: I finally got it

Its definately a cool Jeep. If I could afford one I might get it. As for the rubber, I believe they are 31 inch Goodyear M/T's.

Yes, they are the 31" Goodyear MT/Rs. Very nice tires, on 16" wheels. ARB lockers front and rear in Dana 44s. I really like this Jeep.

Build yer own. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Seems most of the Rubicons are going to Yuppies that don't know a locker from a footlocker. Read this for a little amusement:

Oh, BTW, congrats on your purchase.

Re: I finally got it

Well I'm glad you love your knew jeep, but the tires aren't really 31's, their almost 31's that are about 9 in's wide. It's a metric size tire not a 31x10.5x16, anyway a pretty dammn good stock tire. Oh and those air-lockers aren't ARB's, sorry if the sales-person told you that but they aren't. DC had them privately made by a Japanese company. Sorry I have to help keep you newbies in check

I was going to point that out too, but didn't want to sound too negative! The lockers are made by Tochigi Fuji Sangyo (repeat that 10 times fast).

Re: I finally got it

The sales person didn't tell me that they were ARBs. That info came from the DC info packet that came with the Jeep, so it's Chrysler that is providing the incorrect information.

Read it closer. According to the Jeep website it is the Japanese "Tru-Lok" that is in the Rubicon, just because it says "air locker" doesn't mean ARB.
