YJ grille - what are those lights for?

Looking at my YJ the other day, and I couldn't help wondering what are those square orange pads there for? You know, ones on the front grille, just below the headlamps, ones that look like turn-signal lights but there's nothing behind them?
Or do they put something there on some models?
Or could it hold some fog lights? Offroad lights?

Oh, please, I may be stupid, but I'm not that stupid!

I have turn signals attached to the fenders. They're half-half boxes, orange & white. Orange ones are (wouldn't you belive!) turn signals, and white ones are position lights. And they work well. But, there are also those two orange squares, as I said, under headlights, and when I remove the plastic, there's NOTHING there.
I thought they might be turn signals, but since I already have them in front & they work, I couldn't guess what are those other ones for.

my bust.. i see you are overseas.. they are turn signals.. we need them here in america.. your country may not require them.. but that is what they are intended for..
in a america.. we do not have those half and half lights that you have.. we just have another orange turn signal/parking light on the side of the fenders...

Can you post a picture of your fender mounted turn signal/position lights? Are they stock equipment over there or aftermarket? I rigged up my turn signals on my fenders because the stock location below the headlights is difficult to see when you have a winch. I'm not too pleased with my set up and have been looking for something better.

Do own a Renegade ?? Didnt they have the turn signals on the fenders ( all countries) . Or am I out to lunch
Without the Renegade option those lights under the headlights were meant to be the factory signal/clearance lights .

No problem!
I'm gonna get my camera & take a shot later today, and I'll post it here. And for those "under-headlights" turn signal lamps, I thought I could slip some off-road lights under there, too...

So, pics coming up in some 3-4 hours....

Hello,

Every Jeep in europe have to have turn signals on the fender as on this pic

That is why your stock american turn signal are not plugged but, believe me, they are turn signal!!!

Mine was built in Canada for the north american market and doesn t have them as you can see on this pic

I hate this plastic boxes on fender, you can put them off and re-wire your turn signals...

Good luck
