Speedometer Correction

I've got 31x10.50 Dueler M/T's going on my '97 TJ in place of the stock 30x9.50's. Is the TJ speedometer electronic with a recalibration possible with the trip odometer button similar to the newer Broncos or do I need to change the drive gear in the T'case?

Re: Speedometer Correction

You've got to change the speedo gear in the Transfer case. I've made the same swap - 30's to 31's. If the 30's were stock, you can do the math in your head. Your speedometer will be 3% too low. i.e. if you speedo says 50MPH you are actually doing 51.5 MPH. Similarly if your odometer says you have gone 100 miles, you have actually gone 103 miles.

I'm sure you know all the math, but thought I would put it here anyway.
