74 cheroke or 79 J10 axles into CJ7

I know Ive asked a few times already but I had some wrong info the guy at the bone yard told me the wrong info and I took his word for it.Any way Im absolutelly sure that Its a 74 Cherokee and a 79 j10 truck both have 6 lug bolt pattern the 79 J10 has what I beleive to be D44 front and rear with some kinda rubber tube coming out of the top of the front D44 .The the 74 Cherooke has what I beleive to be D44 front and back also. I looked for the ID # on the web but I couldn't find them since the axles are still attached. I looked on the web next to the oil plug. the only numbers still ledgible were 307 on the Cheeroke which Im sure is the axle ratio. I can also get a Ford 9" for the same price. Im thinking Ford 9" rear out of ??? and D44 front anyway Im buying them for sure in 1 week so I promise not to ask anymore dumb ???

Re: 74 cheroke or 79 J10 axles into CJ7

the J truck axles are really too wide to use unless you are planning to cut them down ( shorten them)

and teh cherokee axles might be too wide also, especially, if it has fender flares and the 4rth and 5th digits are "17" that denotes Widetrack

unless you want that massive width, in which case they will both work, as long as you realize the rear axles are going to be offset to teh passenger side if the trucks are equipped with automatics ( and tehy probably are) they are most likely automatic/quadratrak setups.
