Looking for a Mechanic in Colorado or Maryland

Iím looking for a mechanic in the Colorado area or Maryland area to work on my 1991 Jeep YJ on swapping in a 4.0L. I have a 2.5L right now and was wondering the price that it might cost to upgrade. I can get all the parts for about $2,400 it that a fair price?

Wow, thats a heck of a commute!

I think that is too high of a price. I think you can find a better deal. For that kind of money you can almost swap in a 350. Of course I say that after putting $2500 in my 258! If I had to do it over again I'd put in a small block.

Re: Looking for a Mechanic in Colorado or Maryland

Well im in college right now in Colorado and home during the winter in Maryland

The total budget is under 5k with parts and install fee
Any other choices I have with this budget other than putting in a 4.0L? I don't know much about working on cars (I did just install a new rad 3 layer core myself)
The reason I need a new engine is because it blows out a quart of oil every 150 miles.
