starts then dies then starts

Hey all,

I seem to have a starting issue in my 92 YJ 4.0. When I start it up it cranks for a long time then starts. Once it starts it runs for a few seconds then dies. I may go through this 2 or 3 times before it runs. When it does run it seems to be running smoothly. I just changed the fuel filter, that was not the problem.

Does anyone have any ideas on what this could be??? Any help is appreciated.

Check your fuel pressure!

If your fuel pump is starting to go it might not be putting out enough pressure. Check the pressure.

Re: starts then dies then starts

Had the same problem with my 91 YJ. It turned out to be the crank position sensor. Hope this helps
