Re: I need some good paint!

i have had really good luck with Tractor Supply Co. Implement Enamel. it comes in all the pretty tractor colors, and red is one of them. it sticks to about anything, seals up rust really well, and is fairly tough.

i think they made it so some farmer could paint his plow without scraping the rust off (or cleaning it), and it still look good.

i painted a bunch of rusty old equipment one summer for a guy. i went over everything with a pressure washer and then sprayed it all with TSC paint. that was 5 years ago, and the stuff has set outside, unprotected since the day i painted it. some of the red has faded to pink, but otherwise its held up as good as you could expect.

Re: I need some good paint!

I've been doing my accessories and tub with Plasti-kote's industrial enamel (OSHA orange - looks killer), and it's tougher than nails. $4 a can at Pep Boys.

Re: I need some good paint!

Have you ever used Hammerite Paint--spray or brush- Very tough industrial paint used on oil rigs in the Gulf.Do a web search--I used it to paint a commercial stove and deep fryers--I'm sold on the stuff. It comes in lots of colors-Hammer finish and standard finish.I've seen a Jeep painted in it,looks good.Just an idea
