OT--one way screwss....?

I know this is way off topic....but why are one way screws used to assemble stalls in public bathrooms? Anyone know?

Re: OT--one way screwss....?

It's because they're afraid that gear heads like us will get bored while doing our "business" and take the stalls apart with our Leatherman tool or key chain screwdriver just because we can.

Those things are great! But buying them is tough. Only found them at plumb supply stores. I make my own for the Jeep. Just grind off one side with a dremel.

It's got nothing to do with taking it apart "just because we can". They know Jeep owners would see pieces we could use. We're not destructive, just resourceful.

Going to the bathroom?

What a wast of time... just piddilin' your time away, you'd might as well make the time usefull rather than sittin' around stallin'.

Re: OT--one way screwss....?

Certainly at some point they must need to take down a stall divider or something...so what tool DO they use?

Re: OT--one way screwss....?

Its not the screws we want. Its the sheetmetal in the walls to repair all our body panels.

It is really just to discourage "vandalls". One sports bar I used to go to occasionally had such a problem with people trashing their stalls they took them out and rebuilt them out of concrete block and put on steel framed metal doors. Thye haven't had anymore problems.
