360?

What cam,intake and carb did you use when you built your 360? Jegs is cheaper than 4Wheel Drive Hardware, where did you all order from? There is not much choice with AMC engines. Any input on this rebuild would be appreciated.

Mine is stock, but you can find some performance information on the amc engine web page (http://www.froadin.com/engines.html). Also summit has manifolds, distributors, carbs, etc.

that used to be theeir website, they have the cheapest master AMC kits ive found, If I were cheap Id go stock with a 2 bbl, a little better would be a Qjet on top of that, even better edlebrock intake and Qjet, and edlebrock cam.

its a strong engine stock.

where in Northern Ms are you?

Thanks for the info. I live in Aberdeen, it's between Columbus and Tupelo. I still haven't decided [img]images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]on my rebuild yet. I broke it down last night and everything looked good besides 2 pistons and the distributor gear.

ya.. amc's are known for that cam walking around.. and chewing up the dist. gear.. mine have done it.. its in the shop now.. hopefully in a few weeks ill start on it..

If you want the BEST information possible, go to www.ezboard.com,Click on forum find,And go to the AMC forum.Any question you have about AMC motors can be answered there from mild to wild. Generally speaking also, I`ve found Summit to have better prices than Jegs. The PAW catalog has lots of stuff for AMC motors too. The 360 is a good motor with lots of available parts. If you just went stock on the lower end and went with the Edelbrock Performer package, cam,lifters,intake,double roller timimg chain set and 600 cfm carb, you would probably be pretty happy. You didn`t mention what it was going in,But in ANY swb Jeep it would be a handful. Check out that AMC forum, The people there are very friendly and helpful. I almost forgot, Dump the stock ignition system for an MSD box; 6A,6AL or Off-Road and a Pro-Billet distributor. Those items alone wake up an AMC motor pretty well. Good Luck

Completley off Topic, but reading the proceding posts I almost feel sober. Thanks for all the info. I've put the engine on the back burner for now. I have the heads at the machine shop now but thats all I'm going to do until the first of the year. I'm going to run the 360 with the T-150,D20 that I bought with the engine. I'll be selling the 258,D300 and a fairly new T-5. How much should I be asking for this combo? The engine runs great(even with the stock carb) it just has two weak cylinders.
