cj - brake booster/enough vacuum?

Im swapping in a wagoneer master cylinder and brake booster as well as the wagoneer proportioning valve. I figured that was the best way since Im using the waggy axles. My question is, whether or not my 231 is going to have the correct vacuum to power the booster? If not, what is the correct way to fix the problem? What happens if you dont have the correct ammount of vacuum? does it just make the power brakes weaker or what?

Re: cj - brake booster/enough vacuum?

Yes, insufficient vacuum will make the brakes less powerful. You also have the possibility of running out of vacuum if you have to hit the brakes twice in a row in a short time.

Be sure to use a vacuum port on the intake manifold to feed it.

And, if it becomes an issue, you could always add a vacuum reservoir to the system.

Corey is right ...
I put a hotter cam in my 6 which effectively brings the vacuum pressure down so low as to render vac assist useless.
That's why I run a HydroBoost brake assist system, an option you may want to consider.
