Will a yellow top fit in a YJ? What\'s its height?

I need a new battery. I want a deep cycle one so I was thinking yellow top. It looks like the post may hit the hood. Will it fit without modifying the battery tray? What is the height to the top of the battery posts? Any other 4 post deep cycle batteries that you guys can recommend that will fit?
Thanks.

If it doesn't fit upright you could just mount it on it's side. That's just one of the nice things about Optimas. I have one and it's just under 8" in height.

Depends on what size Optima you choose. There are a couple of different sizes. Most of them are smaller than the stock battrery.

I think the best thing to do is find out what sizes they make. Batteries outside dimensions are sized by standard group sizes. A group 38 is the same size no matter who makes it. Go over to the auto-parts store and compare the group-size batteries that they make to the group-size in the Jeep.

I would say that is the easiest way to find out.

Best regards

I got one in mine, no clearance problems at all.
