The t176 tranny is a pretty good unit for a 6 cyl but I hear it's kinda whimpy for an 8 cyl. The dana 300 is killer (execellent) go to Novak adapters for some very good info on trannys and transfer cases

The axles should be AMC20 rear, D30 front. I don't know the possible gear ratio's because my books are at home. The T176 is a 4 speed medium duty tranny. It is good for mild V-8's (it was available behind the 304 from the factory). A friend has had one behind a stock Chevy 350 for 5 years now with no problems.

In '81 with the combo you listed 2.73's were standard and 3.31's optional.
