CJ - Axle swapping, shim and perch ?s

I don't recall this being covered, so here goes.
I will be putting a HD20 into the CJ in a SUA setup with 4" lift springs.

Should I leave the shims that came on the springs on them and adjust the pinion angle when putting on new spring perches.
Or
Should I just remove them and adjust the pinion angle when I put on the new spring perches.

The only reason I could think of to leave the shims in is if for some reason I need to adjust the pinion angle in the future, it would be easier to change a shim than to remove and reweld the perches.

I personally would take them off, and just weld them on in the proper place, then later if you need to change it you can put that shim or another back in.

Doh! (insert Homer simpson voice)
For some reason I wasn't even thinking about it that way.
