Need 258 Dipstick Tube

Does anyone have an extra 258 dipstick tube? My bolt came loose and the tube broke off in the block. Now I've got oil splashing out and making a huge mess.

Thanks in advance.

I had the same thing happen, and the dealer wanted big bucks. Mine broke at the point where it goes into the block. I had a guy weld the two pieces together, but he used a steel washer in between to make a stronger weld.

Worked perfectly. Hope this helps.

Hey Derek,

Call up to Turner 4WD in Roswell. Gene generally carries some "shorty" tube/sticks. They're great for distributors with larger heads (TR, GM-HEI, or MSD), but the price is right... As I remember, somewhere around $20 or less for tube AND stick.

Re: Need 258 Dipstick Tube

I got a dipstick tube for my 360 from Buckye Off Road (440-224-1376). It's been a few years, but I don't think it cost very much (~$12). Bill was super friendly and he knows his stuff.

Re: Need 258 Dipstick Tube

Mike, do you know of a web page for Buckye, or the part number for that tube for the 360. I am looking for a dipstick tube for my 360 also, and have not had very good luck finding one. If I could order on from ?? Buckye?? that would be great, and $12 doens't sound too bad. Thanks.

Re: Need 258 Dipstick Tube

Last time I ordered from Buckeye he didn't have a website. It's basically a one-man shop. The email address I have for him is [email protected]

I don't have the part number for the tube, but when I ordered mine he just asked for the number that's stamped on the dipstick and then he matched up the right tube. Don't quote me on that price, it's been about 3 years and I've slept alot since then.
