Re: 2wd Cj6? Is there such an animal?

i have seen a CJ7 in two wheel drive at my mechanics garage. I asked him about it. He said they used to make them for tourist resorts. they can get alot of peopl around, but not need the front axle. I would think this applies to the CJ6 as well. It is a shame for a jeep to be subjected to 2 wheel drive, but save it and give it new legs

It may be a DJ-6. There were such "Dispatcher Jeeps" built with 2wd. The DJ-6 had the same wheelbase as the CJ-6 but the body had the older pre F-head hood and front end. The DJ models are what we now commonly call "Postal Jeeps". The models were the DJ-3A, DJ-5, and DJ-6. The DJ-6 is very rare.
